King’s College London University partnership
She Plays To Win was proud to partner with King’s College London University to showcase chess at their ‘Unlocking AI and Computer Science’ day on Saturday 17th January.
Around 60 Year 12 girls, who had attended their online courses in the Spring Term of 2025 attended the event where they had interactive classes given by King’s College lecturers.
These girls were given chess classes by SPTW Founder Lorin as well as female students Kim and Evie (pictured on thumbnail photo).
The girls were quick learners indeed- some of them had never played chess before, and after 15 minutes were learning tough chess concepts! The main point that they enjoyed the challenge to learn and think, just like they were doing at the AI Computer Science event itself, and were asking where they could learn chess more.
Our thanks to King’s College London, and She Plays To Win invites more universities to partner with us as we expand chess to girls at primary, secondary and university ages as per our mission.
