ECF Girls Schools Championships a success as 330 UK girls participate

Sunday 25th January 2026 saw 330 girls represent their school in the English Chess Federation (ECF) National Girls Schools Championships.

The Southern Semi Final, held normally at St Catherine’s School, Bramley, was twinned with the Northern Semi Final being held at the same time in Manchester.

Well done to all the girls who participated in both the Under 11 (Primary) and Under 19 (Secondary) school events.

Congratulations to Eltham College (U11) and St Paul’s Girls School (U19) who won the Semi Finals. The top 8 teams in each age category will go through the Finals, which will be held on 28th and 29th March.
